Father's Day Weekend

I'm sure like everyone else, our weekends go by way too fast! But still, whahhh! We want them to last all week! We got to spend some extra time with our favorite guy which worked out perfect since it was Father's Day weekend. Russ "sorta" had a half day off on Friday so we were able to have some much needed family fun at the beach, complete with Grotto's pizza Harp's favorite!
Harper loves her daddy and we are lucky to have the best one around hands down! We let him get a little bit of daddy time in this weekend with his new toy, a long board he's always a ton of fun and perpetually young at heart which makes him that much more love able!
Russ got an outdoor theater for his Father's Day present and we broke it in this past Saturday night! It's pretty awesome and being able to chill in your own backyard is perfect, complete with s'mores and popcorn it is easily becoming our new favorite thing to do! Finishing the weekend off with a family BBQ was the cherry on top, hope you spoiled your favorite men this weekend we sure did! Xoxo Russ!

Summer Redo

If you are anything like us we love to entertain, and especially in the summer time, when the weather is hot, the drinks are cold and there is most always something grilled for dinner. Blues always seem to be a great reminder of summer for me, pools, the beach, the sky all are beautiful hues and so using those in my summer decorating are my fav. Try to update your summer eating spot this summer with some fun summer blues, and enjoy!

Here is our own dining room redo into our dream summer dinner table. Being pregnant I do eating best, so happy eating!

Happy Friday

Happy friday! We have spent a couple days this week making our ultimate summer to do list! I originally found the idea on Pinterest, and our own version turned out great. We made a color coordinated list of things we would like to do this summer based on five categories; water activities, cooking, arts and crafts, fields trips, and bonus activities. I painted the tips of 25 large popsicle sticks with the appropriate color, then numbered them 1-25. I then created a little booklet that had all 25 things that went with each number. My plan is to let Harper choose a stick and see where that takes us for the day. I am hoping this eliminates any days that we aren't sure what to do, and so that I don't go crazy this summer trying to entertain a 2 year old! Harper has also currently been obsessed with watching Tangled roughly 600 times here in the past month, so we had a little Rapunzel inspired craft day. Since she paints all inside her tower Harper insisted on "painting like her!" This was yet another idea I saw on Pinterest and I must say its one of my favs so far..it turned out just like the picture and I can't wait to get it framed and hung! In the words of Russ..happy frickin' weeekendd :)

Bang

I have been very excited to start my blog, so I figured starting it off with a bang would only be appropriate! There has been a lot going on around here including a big birthday weekend, and probably the biggest bang of all we have a potty trained 2 year old, I mean can you say best birthday present ever, well that and my dozen Georgetown Cupcakes. We never thought the highlight of our lives would be turing the back of our car into a "potty station" complete with our handy green potty, wipes/tp, and a water bottle for our own version of "flushing." Although, we will basically do anything at this point to avoid changing a diaper of a two year old (which is like a grown man) so we are proud of our make shift port-a-potty, even if our break on diapers is only going to be short lived with our second peanut making an arrival in approximately 8 weeks!
